Secret Garden
麻豆社 iPlayer 鈥 5 April 2026 / 麻豆社 One 鈥 12 April 2026
During a sequence about blue tits in episode two of Secret Garden, our narration incorrectly claims that 鈥淭o successfully fledge, each chick will require 20,000 caterpillars.鈥 This should have said 鈥2,000鈥 as each chick needs 100 caterpillars a day and they take approximately 20 days to fledge as per . It is therefore all ten chicks who require 20,000, not one. We have added a clarification strap at the start of the episode and apologise for the error in the narration.

In our video 鈥楽cotland no longer the underdogs in the sport of kabaddi鈥, about the increase in popularity of the sport in Scotland, we inaccurately referred to the location of the Kabaddi World Cup in 2025. We apologise for the erroneous reference and are happy to clarify that the event took place in the West Midlands of England.

In an episode with Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, he briefly referred to 鈥渘et migration numbers鈥 coming down because of an 鈥渆xodus鈥 of people leaving the UK (i.e. emigrating). To be clear, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), long-term international net migration was two thirds lower in the year up to June 2025. While the number of people leaving the UK did go up, 90 per cent of that overall fall was from a decrease in long term immigration (401,000).

In a report on the Darlington hospital tribunal our reporter misspoke at one point when describing part of the ruling which talked about a 鈥渂iological male, trans woman鈥. Despite the word 鈥渕ale鈥 being inadvertently missed out in this instance, the rest of the item had been clear about the gender identity and sex of those involved.

In a story about experts warning against drinking raw milk after a baby died from listeria in New Mexico, we mistakenly used a picture of the dairy product 鈥楻aw Milk鈥. We apologise for this and would like to stress that this product from Raw Farm isn鈥檛 connected in any way with the story. The image was replaced quickly online and associated social media posts have been removed.

We posted an online article about a gay man who said he felt unable to access gambling addiction services and some research into others who felt similar. The article did not meet our editorial standards. It included the man鈥檚 criminal offending but did not provide sufficient context or take account of the likely impact on victims of his contribution. We have removed the article from the website.

In a breaking news sequence after 10pm about the US seizing the Venezuelan president Nicol谩s Maduro we featured a contributor who had placed two of his published books behind him. This gave undue prominence to his work and we鈥檙e sorry for this oversight.

During an item about calls for tougher sentences for drivers who cause deaths we briefly showed a picture of a mother and son on a sofa. It has since been brought to our attention that it was digitally edited to incorporate two images and we apologise for including the photograph.

During an interview in the lead-up to the Welsh Senedd elections, we said that official figures suggested that since the introduction of the 20mph speed limit policy change in Wales, 100 fewer people have died. We should have said that this figure related to the fewer number of people killed and seriously injured 鈥 as explained in this article: Welsh 20mph limit: 100 fewer killed or seriously hurt in first year - 麻豆社 News.

During discussion about the changes to the state pension age for women, it was stated that the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman had rejected calls for compensation and said the changes were lawful. This was incorrect. The Ombudsman investigation focused on the communication of the changes, not their legality, and in 2024 recommended compensation of between 拢1,000 and 拢2,950 for each person affected.

During widespread coverage of Holocaust Memorial Day, there were some instances where we said 鈥渟ix million people鈥 or 鈥渟ix million mostly Jewish people鈥 had been murdered by the Nazi regime. These were incorrectly worded for which we apologise. They should have referred to 鈥渟ix million Jewish people鈥.

Our coverage of First Minister鈥檚 Questions, in respect of exchanges concerning delayed discharges in hospitals, included a reference to 鈥渢he three biggest party leaders鈥, whereas it would have been better if our scripting had said 鈥渢hree of the biggest party leaders鈥. We are happy to clarify that point.
